One of my passions is photography. I was very fortunate to work in the film business in Los Angeles for many years. I worked as a Camera Assistant in the camera department on feature films like “Dirty Dancing”, television commercials, and music videos.
Later in my career, a chance conversation with a film colleague put me on the path to real estate.
I worked for 12 incredible years as a Real Estate Agent for Sotheby’s International Realty before uprooting myself from Los Angeles. I moved to Texas in 2019 to be closer to family here in San Antonio. I often talk to Sellers about moving but did not truly appreciate the magnitude of it until I moved myself, my sister, and her guide dog halfway across the United States.
There is the stress of the physical logistics of moving as well as the emotional stress of leaving your home, friends, and city you know and love. Time and regularly seeing family members here has made our transition to Texas successful.
So, what does a Californian see in Texas? It reminds me of Hollywood when I first got there. People moved to Hollywood to take a chance, pursue a dream, and a better way of life. To me, Texas is the new ‘dream’ frontier. People are moving here from all over. Why? For a real opportunity to pursue dreams backed by astounding economic growth, job opportunities, innovation, entrepreneurship, and home ownership sooner than later.
And I discovered after I got here—the green rolling hills, the tremendous sense of humor of Texans, and Buc-ee’s.
